Spatial Data Law and Policy Trade

Welcome to the brand new website dedicated to the field of space law, space policy, and space applications.

Spatial Data is regulated by several different law and policy instruments. The very-well known “Inspire Directive” is one of them. A uniform framework should constitute the common feature in satellite data and imagery commerce.

Inspire establishes global parameters regarding satellite infrastructure, as stated also
by Catherine Doldirina in her work named “INSPIRE: a real step forward in building an
interoperable and unified spatial information infrastructure for Europe”. More
academics directly or indirectly confirm the need of a global and unified system of systems.

A private global approach to satellite data commerce would allow (like Inspire),
accessibility to data, through private contract drafting, as has been indicated by several law practitioners.
